Random Tuesday Thoughts

I actually have a lot of random going through my head lately. How long has it been since I’ve done one. OK don’t think its best that way it makes my head hurt let’s just say it’s been too long.

Ready! OK! Ok seriously, I’ve been watching too much “Bring it on” lately. I am sooo not a cheerleader of any type.

I have sworn that I would never talk about poop but here is my issue. I have read where other Moms have done the same thing and after becoming a parent lookout here it comes. Poop becomes the topic of choice and OMG! I really don’t see me being any different. Oh, the shit is gonna roll. Pun intended…

I keep thinking about all the times that my new bundle of joy is going to flat out turn exorcist on me and how am I going to react to that one. I am not sure what is worse poop or puke. The thought of pea soup flying is just not my cup of tea or soup for that matter.

For those that actually know me you can only imagine how this child’s life if going to be. See, I happen to be one of those women that have an issue with kids playing. Let me explain before y’all kill me. When they play they seem to get dirty and well dirty kids are just that dirty and they leave little sticky, dirty hand, fingers and feet print everywhere. Oh did I mention we are having a boy so the first time he comes in with a damn bug or frog in his pocket I will shit my pants not his. I don’t like bugs. Oh, look we are talking about poop again. This is going great. Yeaaa!

OK, here is another thing bothering me. Are my boobs really going start leaking? I mean come’on they never have before and well I understand I am pregnant but they are not getting any bigger. So are they? I mean why they seriously have to leak. No one wants anything from them at the moment.

I was walking at the mall the other day (yes I was walking) and found these T-shirts that said “Miracle in the Makin” and “I am not Fat I am Pregnant.” So, I have decided that I want every one of these cotton pickin’ t-shirt because they are just so cute. I will go tomorrow just to get pictures and post them for you to see maybe for this Wednesday. I have to go anyway; I have to get my rings cleaned this month. YEAH! They will look all pretty and shiny. See it’s doesn’t take much to amuse me. I can usually keep myself and other’s occupied.

Well till next Tuesday… Hey if you wanna check out some great Random Tuesday check out Momspective and the Unmom.

I have been trying to come up with things to write about that are actually interesting. I know there are literally topics out there ranging from A-Z and some have been done over and over and I personally can’t get tired of them.

Most of you know I am going to be a new 1st time mom in July. I am here to tell you I know NOTHING. I am new to all aspects of children well raising children as my own so to speak.

I will be asking some questions and hopefully getting some answers that will help in my journey as a parent. At this point it should be pretty simple as its decision about which bottle to use or the pro’s and con’s of breastfeeding. I know some say look it up on google or something and read; just letting y’all know I have now I want actual advice and opinions from other parents. Before the comment comes up that I am absolutely crazy for asking opinions of others about things that are personal preference. That is what I want to hear. What do YOU think it best and why? What would you do to make things easier and is there something that could make things a bit easier.

My first question of the new so-called outline is on the subject of breastfeeding and formula feeding. I personally have mixed emotions on both and would like possibly getting some outside opinions on the subject.

I understand that breast-feeding is supposed to help with the bonding between you and your little one, also, the benefits of added nutrients that he/she will be getting. I also know that in my case I am a tad bit more modest (I think that is what it is called) and just know that I will not be able to just flop the boob out when it’s time to feed in public. I also know that is what the breast-pump is for and I must admit I am not looking forward to the pump.

So, what is your opinion on breast-feeding and assuming you will use a pump at some point what bottle is best to use? There are so many different types that all seem to actually do pretty much the same thing which bottle actually performs the best and why?

OK we all know I am not officially a mommy yet, unless you count the one in the oven.  Either way, here is my outlook on food, pregnancy, and Dr.’s being overly cautious.

My OB says no lunch meat unless I heat it to the point of steaming EVERYTIME. Me personally I don’t like hot lunch meat unless it’s a fried bologna sandwich. Now understanding the reason that this was requested I can see where it might be a concern but if I am not going to eat lunch meat because of Salmonella then I am not going to eat chicken or veggies or anything.

I have noticed I love a good sandwich and I love Subway. When I lost those 60 pounds before getting pregnant I ate a lot of lunch meat. It always started out as a sandwich but usually took half that off because of getting full.

Now, I know I am pregnant and I know I have to be sensible in losing weight. But as of Tuesday at the Dr. I have gained 40 pounds in 6 months and I am not happy. So with that being said in 3 months when this baby decides to bless us with his presence let’s see how much weight I can drop.

Wish me luck; I will be talking about this until then.

This is my first Fitness Friday in a while. I have been tending to my six-month old soccer-ball in my belly. I always heard it was no big deal being pregnant but when you are pregnant you thinking tend to change a bit. Whether it is on the topic of nutrition or exercise or just how you want to raise your child and with what beliefs. Today is solely on what goes through a person’s mind while they are pregnant concerning fitness and nutrition.

Before I start I have to say this is my first pregnancy and I am speaking from my experience only (so far) things might change a bit later.

Here is a brief history on me…

I, like a lot of people was/is overweight. If you look at my blog history you will find the whole story but here is just a bite in case you are in a time crunch. I lost 60 pounds and then found out I was pregnant.

I was afraid and excited at the same time. I wanted to continue losing weight but was on blood pressure medicine and they changed it when we found out. So, I am seriously retaining a lot of fluid. I gained 16 pounds the first month we found out (which was also the month they changed my meds.) So, in six and a half months I have gained 31 pounds so I am assuming at this rate I will be gaining all of my weight back.

One thing I have to keep and will surely try to keep in my head is to think positive. I lost the initial 60 pounds thinking positive and eating healthier and using the Wii and EA SPORTS Active. I love both of them and what they have helped me achieve.

Eating healthy isn’t always the easiest thing to do. I know in my situation it’s because I do not know enough about healthier eating to do it right. In the beginning I found out the more colorful your food is the better it is for you. I loved it because I thought I could have all the skittles I wanted. OK, maybe that wasn’t true but it sounded good.

Now that summer is approaching I am going to plant me a little garden. I need fresh veggies to cook and I want to start now so that I can set a good example to our son (when he’s born.) In about a month I will be planting tomatoes, carrots, green beans and squash (summer and zucchini). Not sure how it’s all going to turn out but it’s worth a try anyway. Fresh veggies are so expensive and I tend to not cook them fast enough so it would be cheaper for me to grow them.

I have been walking more this past week. I am going to get my pedometer back out to make sure I hit my goal steps like I was before. I need to for the health of my little one and for me.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I feel like I am starting over and want to stay where I am at concerning my weight. I know it will not hurt me to lose weight or stay the same.

Thanks for stopping by check back next week for any new updates.
