Last Christmas I was given “The Biggest Loser” books. I was really excited but I never got around to reading them. Throughout my journey I am coming up with a lot of questions only to figure out that I have the answers to my questions right in front of me.

The questions I have I believe are common but for someone that grew up with no real exercise I was afraid to ask or felt that they were stupid questions. I have come to realize in my getting older that there really are no stupid questions. This is for anyone out there that feels embarrassed or silly for asking questions. First of all don’t, this is your health and your life. If you do not take charge than who will?

My first question is… How do I figure out how many calories I am supposed to eat? I found this answer several places on the internet and mostly it was all the same. I like how it was stated in the “The Biggest Loser” because it flat out gave me a number. One of the other ways to figure it out was to take you Goal Weight and multiply that number by ten so in my case I would be allowed 1600 calories. I felt that was a safe number considering I am not under a Doctor’s care on my journey. “The Biggest Loser” book gave me the number of 1680 for my weight so it was really close. My personal journey I am leaning toward following the “The Biggest Loser.”

My next question… What happens to all the skin that you lose while losing weight? Well, that one wasn’t so easy to find. While searching for this answer I found tons I mean tons of info on surgery; for me not an option at least at this point. I did read somewhere that drinking all that water helps in that area but it’s not going to do it all. Toning exercises help but mostly what I have found is that it depends on your body. Some of that skin will go back a little with time too.

I like cooking and well I just don’t know how to cook healthy what can I cook? I absolutely loved reading the recipes in “The Biggest Loser Cookbook.” I will say I have not tried a lot of them but they sound AWESOME! When I cook, I cook for my husband and I and the foods that are in our house are not what’s in the book. Eating healthy and cooking healthy are getting easier and will get a lot easier as time goes by. I have yet to totally master this one but I am still on my journey. Just drink tons of water and eat tons of veggies. Next week I will start posting a healthier recipe along with my “Fitness Friday.”

How did I get this way and why? I have been asking myself that as long as I can remember and I have finally came up with some things that have contributed. I can’t blame it all on issues because I myself put the food into my mouth or I drank all those soft drinks and my favorite is water what’s that.

We all have our demons and will work through them in our own time. Remember this is not an overnight thing. This is life changing. This is one day at a time.

I just want you all to know you are not alone. If you are having a bad day, come back and comment. IF you have a question come ask maybe I can help find an answer. I am by no means a health expert; I am just a girl with her own journey willing to try and help other’s on the same journey.

Here we go again for some of my blubbering randomness of the day.

Do you ever think this girl has so idea that what is going through her head makes no sense what-so-ever? Trust me I think that myself sometimes. It’s OK I won’t get mad it’s true. Now that Halloween is here I am blaming it all on the pumpkins and the man-eating plants on facbook’s farmville game. My mom and I went talking about it as we believe something is going to happen; like the plant’s going to eat us or something.

I keep thinking about my 5K coming up. I really hope people do show up. I mean they told me they would but I also know talks cheap so they better show up because I have their shirts, so HA!

Joe found a picture of when we first moved back up to Kentucky. OMG! My hair was short and I didn’t look so well let’s just say I don’t like pictures of me. He is so cute. I couldn’t ask for anyone better, nicer, cuter, etc. You know all the mushy stuff.

Hey, some BIG news coming up soon. I am not going to tell yet but soon I promise. No it’s not what most are thinking but you’ll still be glad. For the ones that are reading this wondering if I have lost my rocker YES, I have please give it back ASAP. I am losing it here.

The other day I was doing my workout and low and behold I did it again. I fell off the wii board. OK so help me figure this one out. I am 33 years old. I’ve been walking for at least 32 years and 3 months give or take.  You would think I would have some sort of balance by now. I mean come on now. I am not a bouncing ball. Although, I am starting to laugh at myself now it’s ok you can too I am really wondering if I need to somehow place training wheels on my wii. Is that even possible?

Do you ever sit and think about the people that are around you? I do sometimes I wonder where they are from. Some of which I swear are aliens from the planet Mochtair or something in another galaxy trying to fit it are wonderfully sane world.

I believe Keely was talking about one day the H1N1 vaccination and how it’s the governments plot to make us sick. Girl I am so with you on that one. I for one did not get vaccinated and am fine (knock on a stack of wood from here to the heavens and back.) The vaccinations are parts of the virus anyway so hello I DO NOT WANT THE VIRUS. Thank You very much for trying to give it to me but no thanks.

Momspective is another one you just cannot miss.  There is no way possible you can guess what is going through her mind. OK maybe just a bit but in no way will you want to miss it. From everyday family to puking on vacation you got it. I love this. You never know what you are going to read.

Ok I am going to do my first vlog Friday sometime. Check it out and tell me what you think. Please be honest and tell me “HEY, NEVER DO THAT AGAIN” or “Keep it up; practice practice practice.” Very excited try it out. If I like it, I might just have to do it more often if I can come up with stuff to talk about.

Do you ever have the cravings for everything that is bad for you? Now, I mean everything; I found myself wanting things that I do not even like just because. I’ve been wondering if it’s because my body is changing because of the weight I have lost. Come to find out I was right. I called my insurance company and they have a nutritional number or something (I don’t like my insurance company right now) kind of like a support number anyway they told me that when you make changes like I (we) have that our body starts to change as well (Can we say DUH) and that in during that process is the best time to check out things we don’t like because we might like them now. This all sounds pretty common sense to me after talking to this person but I guess it’s one of those things you have to hear it for yourself.

Please tell me how much weight you have lost so far and what your goals are. I would love to help encourage you during your journey. Here are mine.

As of this morning I have lost 60 pounds. I am totally excited but I think my scale is lying. I don’t see it at all and am getting frustrated. I am not seeing is in my clothes anymore (at first I was.) I am eating like I should but I have been slacking on the wii this week. It’s been hard to concentrate at all this week. My ULTIMATE goal is to get 170lbs. I have a ways to go and I have broken that up into smaller goals so it’s not such a big seemingly unattainable number. My smaller goals are set at 25 lbs increments so that I visually see some sort of progress. I hit my first 2 goals and getting toward the 3rd but man it’s slowing down and getting frustrating.

I am going to try to find some before pics and post them and then of course take some after pics (I SWARE CLEAN ONE ha!) I have also been told just because you do not see results do not give up; you look at yourself everyday and can’t possibly see all the changes. So please everyone, I AM NOT GIVING UP and I expect you to not give up as well. This lifestyle change is very important to us all and everyone around. We all have our reasons for wanting to become healthy just make sure they are for the right ones or it won’t last.
