“Food Friday”

Today’s Food Friday Post is going to be the easiest yet I swear.

Sloppy Joe Mac Casserole.

Tonight we are having what I simply call “Sloppy Joe Casserole” simple and straight to the point. Yes, it is Sloppy Joes but with a slight twist a simple one at that. Remember with all “Food Friday” recipes adjust to fit your family size.

You will need:

2 pounds of hamburger

2 cups shredded cheddar cheese (I guess any cheese you would prefer)

½ cup minced dried onions

1 lb. box of elbow noodles

2 cans of Sloppy Joe sauce

Cook hamburger with onions on stovetop, boil elbow noodles at the same time. When hamburger is done add the 2 cans of Sloppy Joe sauce. When noodles are done be sure to drain them good and put in a 9×13 pan then put meat and meat sauce on top and top with cheese. Cover with aluminun foil and put in oven for 20 min or until check is melted.

I sometimes prefer not to melt the cheese just sprinkle it on but your decision.

This will be enough for two 9×13 pans but left-over’s; always good.

We will also be having tator tots with this so it will be extra good tonight.

randomtuesday

Wow!  My first Random Tuesday Thoughts. Umm what do I say?  I for one am never lost for words so here I go.

Hubby is sick; well it’s his knee again. Hope it’s better by the weekend we have plans.  Hey, I know if not by Friday I will take him to the Dr for a shot.  Ewwww I couldn’t take it last time I cried because he got the shot. Whata’ nut. Can you believe he laughed at me after he was out of pain of course?

I am doing the whole fresh veggie thing now at least trying to.  Not sure how long the stuff will stay in fridge but we are gonna find out.  I know the purpose is to eat it but like I said I am just trying it out; the next step is learning to cook it and eat it.

I have been hearing that the more colorful your food is the better it is for you.  YEAAAA!!  I can eat some skittles.  Hey we can put food coloring on Pizza SAWEETTTTT!!!

Ok hubby works a lot and someone comes to cut our grass (if I do it I get really sick.) Not a big deal our yard is not big but for some reason the man does not want to weed eat beside the garage.  Maybe he thinks weeds are flowers if they UGLYYY!

Ok I had a tooth pulled last Friday went to Wal-Mart to get prescription filled. Yea its ready (time lapse) nasty gaws in mouth and lady says “Oh what did ya have done at the dentist.” Nasty gaws and all I tell her a tooth and she says “Oh I don’t wanna know; you just look funny” HELLOOOOO if ya didn’t want to know DON’T ASK…  DUHHHH!

We are going to Holiday World theme Park with some friends soon. I am so excited I haven’t been there since I was a little kid.  I love the rides. Note to self: do not wear white shorts and white and red snoopy underwear on a water ride. Yeah that was embarrassing. That Goodness I was only like 10 years old.

Holiday World: after you pay to get in you get FREE soda while in the park. Is it me or should you have water while at the park instead of soda. Since I have been watching my weight and NOT drinking soda like normal you should see me on caffeine. LOOK OUT HOLIDAY WORLD; block the door.  hehe

Not joke.  I have noticed by getting on the scale I have lost 43 pounds since November; YEAA for me! I think I am sabotaging myself; to celebrate I ordered pizza Sunday because I was excited. Altogether now, DUH!!!

I could literally keep this up forever. I must get to other things. Check back next Tuesday for some more RANDOMNESS!!  W00t w00t

Sunday Funday

If someone was to ask me what I wanted or enjoyed doing I would have to say I love to spend time with friends. Sunday we are going to some friend’s house for the afternoon and I can’t wait.

The plan earlier in the week was to put some things on the grill and go at it.  Right up my alley (lol.) Besides a small cook-out just visiting and talking is fun. We don’t have to do anything or go anywhere but just enjoy each other’s company.

Other things you can do with your family is go to a game store of some type.  We have a place called Kart Kountry here and it’s great.  They have Go Kart track outside and arcade games indoors. They even have a paintball section or they were talking about it last time we were there. Although, it does cost money to do these things every once in a while it is worth it.

The cost for the Go Karts ranges from $4.50 – $5.50 per lap. The track is 1.5 miles long. The golf Corse is $4.50 per round and is wheelchair and stroller accessible. They also have batting cages; you name it they have it if not it’s probably coming soon. Kart Kountry is always looking for more ways to expand their business.  It is a great place to take the family or friends for a day of fun.

If you are ever in the area check them out. I promise it’s worth the fun you will have. Check them out at Go Kart Kountry Website .

Wanting to become a Non-Profit

I have decided I want to do something more productive. Thought about doing something to help out the less fortunate in my community i.e. winter is coming maybe coat drives or collecting can goods or something.

There are so many people out there that are hard working individuals and still have to struggle to take care of their families. Just the other day a friend of mine and I were talking about what kind of job we want.  This is what we talked about. In this case we need jobs so I got to thinking can’t we try to get a grant or something to help other’s in our community.

I have worked for non-profits before and the rules are pretty picking but understandably so.  This is someone else’s money you are using to help others.

If anyone out there knows how to write a grant proposal and would like to help us it would be greatly appreciated.

I know there are a lot of business’s out there doing these very same things just supplies only go so far.  Just think we might actually be able to help more people starting a new outlet of local resources.

I will be writing more on this subject soon as I find out more information about it. Wish me luck.

Lately, I have been really tired. Not knowing why I decided to make a simple dinner for those nights. Slow Cooker time; I love my slow cooker. One of my favorite recipes in the slow cooker is simple but sooooo DELISH!

1 – roast (beef or pork)

8 – peeled potatoes cut in quarters

8 – peeled carrots cut in bite-size pieces

1 -        1/2 head of cabbage

1 – tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce

1 – diced white onion

Salt and Pepper to taste

I put it all in slow cooker together cook on high for 4-5 hours then on low/simmer till you are ready to eat. Let sit like 10 minutes before eating.
